“I’m investigating perception and calling out outdated ideas we see in our everyday lives from news outlets, cartoons, reality shows, etc. I feel my art is beginning to have these conversations and allow people to take a setback and self-reflect upon themselves to better understand how they are perceiving the world or life in general. Is it through the eyes of the media or is it within our higher self or conscious that we are viewing and experiencing life? Which state of mind are you in?”

In this installation, I wanted to go back to a moment when I was younger. I would always sit in my living room and watch TV because it was an escape . But without realizing those were teachable moments for me and it came from what I was consuming through media. My thoughts, my views, the way I act was all from a TV screen and being a product of my environment that also mimics that in ways. So it’s almost as if we are mirroring the media. In a way this installation is a reflection off of what you are viewing from the TV. In this video, I call, “AStoryToldByTwo”, A piece about consumption and programming through media. Two different POV from two different generations of media within the same product of an environment. Overlayed with a collage of found footage. It was set in a home setting while holding an organic conversation. I found myself reverting back to what I’ve done in the beginning of my practice and that is simply being a product of your environment a mere reflection but going through this process brought the question that what if being a product of your environment is simply being a product of a byproduct ?   -E
